SnapDrive and Diagnostic Unit
- Q: Does
the same wattage SnapDrive fit in similar wattage Area, Flood
and Wallpack luminaires?
A: Yes, it is common to across the Criterion Series.
- Q: Would
a person troubleshoot the SnapDrive electrical system in the luminaire
or on a test bench?
A: SnapDrive is designed for
both easy testing either in the luminaire or for simple two step
removal for testing on a test bench. For large installations or
multisite maintenance, we recommend keeping an extra supply of
SnapDrive electrical systems on the shelf to quickly restore a
non-working luminaire to operation and to minimize maintenance
disruptions. The non-functioning SnapDrive electrical systems
can then be quickly diagnosed and serviced on the ground and rotated
back into inventory for the next service interval.
- Q: Do
the Digital Diagnostic Tester and tool-less maintenance features
indicate that the Criterion line and SnapDrive luminaires require
more maintenance than other more traditional systems?
A: The elimination of
much of the internal luminaire wiring results in a more reliable
luminaire. Additionally, GE Lighting Systems is known in the industry
for its Six Sigma Quality reputation. If the luminaire ever does
need service, the Criterion line is the simplest to diagnose and
repair.
- Q: Can
the SnapDrive electrical system be retrofitted into a non-Criterion
luminaire?
A: No. The SnapDrive electrical
system is designed exclusively for GE Lighting System designed
Criterion Family of luminaires.
- Q: If
a user orders a 100W discreet voltage SnapDrive electrical system,
can it be reconfigured in the field to a different voltage?
A: Yes, all discreet voltage
120V through 277V SnapDrive electrical systems from 100W to 1000W
are actually multi-volt platforms. The voltage can be easily tool-lessly
re-configured in the field in a simple one-step process in seconds.
Note that the fusing and the photoelectric control, if any, must
be compatible with the new voltage.
- Q: Is
the SnapDrive electrical system available in 347V for Canada?
A: It is anticipated that
the 347V system will be introduced in early third quarter 2001.
- Q: Does
the SnapDrive electrical system support both standard 175W, 250W
and 400W and pulse start lamps?
A: Yes. One of the nice features
of SnapDrive is the simple plug-in upgrade to pulse start MH technology.
Simply plug in the correct ignitor and the electrical system is
upgraded. This upgrade takes only seconds.
- Q: Are
extra EZChoose plugs available?
A: Yes, an assortment pack
of replacement plugs is available.
- Q: Are
Criterion luminaires with SnapDrive UL 1572 listed?
A:
They are UL 1572 listed, which means they are suitable for wet locations.
- Q: What
are the levels of operation of bi-level?
A: Bi-level switches between
400W and 250W.
